I started this blog to track my progress as an affiliate marketer using everything I learned in enterprise and technical sales for SaaS companies.

This isn’t a blog post on getting rich quickly in 2022.

But if you do what I say in this guide, it will give you all the fresh ideas and tactics you need for the 2020s and beyond.

Now it’s your turn to make money so let’s get started!

How to Make Money Blogging in 2022 and Beyond!

Before anything else, the first step you need to start a blog is purchasing yourself a domain name.

Don’t overcomplicate it. Keep it simple.

If your name is available but that, if not, try one closely related or abbreviated.

You can try adding a different TLD extension to it (.io – .me – – com – .tv) whatever it may be that makes sense.

The best thing about using your own name or a personal brand is.

You can always attach any brand to your personal brand. Your personal brand can stay with your no matter what industry, niche or market it is.

It’s the easiest way to get started without overcomplicating things, meaning you don’t need to spend days thinking of a catch name. You don’t need to design a logo to suit that name (letters, initials & words make easy logos). This means you don’t start going down a rabbit hole that doesn’t need to be explored yet.

Your focus is to get your business up and running making money.

Next: You need Web hosting

Now you have your domain sorted, now you need some Webhosting. This is another vital element that is often under-discussed, or other blogging Gurus drive you towards their affiliate products.

If you don’t have the budget to buy a Managed WordPress hosting company like Kinsta or Cloudways.

The next best thing you can do is avoid the crowded resources hungry shared hosting companies like Siteground, Hostgator, Bluehost, etc.

I would highly recommend looking at Rootpal if you want a reliable shared hosting provider. I personally use them for several sites I run. (This one is hosted on Digital Ocean)

Your website’s speed, reliability, and user experience are vital to your success, which is heavily dependent on your Webhosting server.

The two videos below will show you how to get started with the best, reliable, and very reasonably priced WordPress hosting companies.

Here are a few others I would recommend.

Congrats! Now You should have a Domain Name & a New Self-hosted WordPress blog!
