Before you start planning out your objectives, you’ll need to define them. Defining objectives is one of the easiest parts of the whole process, and there are several techniques you can use to choose the right ones. In fact, a lot of the choices you make during this stage will directly impact your ability to create strong key results.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when choosing objectives:
• Choose one or two broad objectives per person. Choosing too many narrow objectives can lead to confusion, and it’s difficult to measure success across multiple goals.
• Make sure every objective reflects a clear goal that someone within your team could achieve. Don’t choose objectives that require skills that no one in your team has yet mastered.
