Physical Therapy Software

What Makes A Good Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy software can be a lifesaver for physical therapists. It can help automate patient intake forms, create treatment plans, track patient progress, and much more. But before you choose one, there are four key questions you need answered.

How does the software integrate with my existing EMR system? Does it provide any additional functionality beyond what I have now? Do I need to pay extra for this functionality? Are there enough integrations with third party systems?

Integration with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: When selecting a new software product, ask yourself whether it integrates with your current EMR. If so, what kind of integration does it offer? Is it just a plug-and-play process, or does it require custom programming? In addition, what kind of connectivity options does it provide? Are you limited to synchronizing data once per day, or can you set up weekly or monthly syncs?

Additional Functionality: Once you know what kinds of features you need, you can determine the cost associated with each. Some products are free, some offer a low price, while others charge upwards of $1,000. Ask yourself what additional functionality you need. Will you need advanced scheduling capabilities? Can you customize reports? Or maybe you need a mobile version of your software.

Third Party Integrations: Third party integrations are the bread and butter of any modern software platform. They allow you to connect with other applications and services that you already utilize on a daily basis. By integrating with popular cloud-based platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, and Box, you can easily sync files across all of them.
