I came across this great quote by Blaine Sundrud in one of the AWS Security Fundamental courses.
The biggest vulnerability in any organization are humans. I’m not prejudiced against humans, some of my best friends are humans, but human beings have no business deploying infrastructure [when compared to AWS CloudFormation]. There are too many ways smart people can make mistakes. The “smart” part is irrelevant, it is the “people” part that will always let you down.Blaine Sundrud
I believe this is the same when it comes to cloud diagramming and documentation. We need to move away from drag and drop tools and automate the process to eliminate human error and effort.
I wrote a post about this a while back about “The future of network diagrams.”
